Todays recipe is usually a big hit with adults and children, even those who hate fish like my self!! This is a great recipe for either lazy days as there is little preperaton involved, or good when you are penny pincing , due to the ingredientsit is also suitable for children. Usually serves 4-6 people You will need; 3 slices of bread stale is best but you can use fresh 1 1/2 cartons of tomato frito 1 carton of water 4 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons dried parsley 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano salt and black pepper to taste 2 tins tuna drained 1/2 a 340g tin of sweetcorn 250g pasta of your personal choice 50g - 100g of any cheese of preference
Method
- IF USING FRESH BREAD heat oven to 80-100c and place your 3 slices of bread on a sheet of foil for aproximatly 30 mins this happens faster if you cut the slices into small squares
- Peheat/turn oven up to 180c 160c if fan oven - grate or blitz in a blender you stale or dried out bread and place to one side
- In a jug mix your 1 1/2 cartons of tomato frito and 1 carton of water - Mix your herbs, garlic powder salt and pepper into the frito water mix in jug and set to one side
- In a seperate bowl mix your tuna and 1/2 can of sweetcorn together - Add the water from sweetcorm to the jug of frito, water and herbs.
- Place your 250g of pasta in a pyrex dish - Pour over half of you water frito mix - Then mix in your tuna and sweetcorn - Pour the remaining frito mix over the top and give a final mix. (if too thick add splash more water)
- When it looks like the photo above Place in oven for 40-60 minutes checking every 20 mins to stir (adding more water if needed) - check a piece of your pasta as its done when pasta is to your liking should look like photo below
- Take out of oven add the breadcrumbs and your cheese place back in the oven and grill till melted.
- It is now finished and Should look like this
