Chocolate Marble Cake

Today I will be sharing My Marble cake recipe. This is a major hit with all kids and the bigger kids (adults) alike. I will explain how to make the sponge

you will need;

- 340g butter, softened

- 340g caster sugar

- 6 eggs

- 340g plain flour

- 1 sachet baking powder

- 4.5/5 tbsp milk

- 4 sachets vanilla sugar

- 4 tbsp cacao or any preferred choice

Method

- Heat oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4.

-Grease a pyrex dish very well with butter

-Start to mix by hand, I use a wooden spoon to beat 340g butter and 340g caster sugar together.

-Next add the 6 eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. (see photos below)

-Add the baking powder to the flour and a pinch of salt and mix well.

-Sieve then Fold in through 340g flour, baking powder salt mix

-Add the 4.5 tbsp milk and mix until the mixture is smooth.

-Divide the mixture between 2 bowls.

-Stir 4 tbsp cola coa powder into the mixture in one of the bowls. And in the other add the 4 sachets of vanilla sugar.

-Take 2 spoons and use them to dollop the chocolate and vanilla cake mixes into the pyrex dish alternately.

-When you have finished using up the mixture. you’ll need to ensure the base of the dish is fairly evenly covered), place a tea towel down and gently tap the bottom on your work surface to ensure that there aren’t any air bubbles.

-Take a skewer and make a few zig-zqgs or swirls in the mixture one in the pyrex dish a few times this is how you create a marbled effect. Do not mix to much or you will mix the batters together just a few swirls or zig zags . Any left over can be put in bun cases for a small on the go sized treat.

-Bake the cake for 45-55 mins until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. The cupcakes/buns take 25/35. mins

- Turn out onto a cooling rack and leave to cool. Will keep for 3 days in an airtight container or freeze for up to 3 months.

ALL THATS LEFT TO DO IS ENJOY !!!
