spinkles of any kind

Method

- firstly you need to preheat your oven to 180c or 160c if using a fan oven.

- Then beat together your butter and sugar till pale and creamy

- Then add the bicarb soda to the flour

- Next add the 2 eggs in one by one mixing through completley.

- Next sift in your flour bicarb soda mix

- Then add the 3 remaining eggs one at a time mixing throughly

- Next sift in your cocoa powder and fold into the cake mixture well (it should look similar to below)

- Grease two pyrex baking dishes or cake tins with butter (be generous)

- Divide your cake mixture between the two pyrex dishes

- Bake in your preheated oven for 30-45 minutes

- Now its time to make the filling

- Warm up half a jar of nutella and mix in 50g of icing sugar

- This will then be spread over the top of one of the sponges this will then become the bottom of the cake, and the bottom of the other sponge which will become the top of the cake (like the photo below)

-Place your two sponges on top of each other and allow your nutella to cool slightly while you make the topping

- Melt your 300g of chocolate in a baine-marie untill melted

- Then liberally pour over the top of your cake making sure you spread evenly and try get the sides.

- Then sprinkle as many or as little sprinkles over the cake as you want

Your finished cakes should look similar to this

Try to let it cool before you eat it hard I know

Then make a cup of tea sit back and enjoy!!! maybe serve it with some of the vanilla custard from an earlier recipe.
