THE WALK

As soon as we started the path, which is the old road that led to the lighthouse, we found a small recreational area with tables that was closed and getting some renovations done on it this looks like it would be a lovely area for a pinic once all restrictions are lifted.

We follow the paved road that will take us to the lighthouse. Shortly after advancing, to the right you see a a pathway that goes up up what looks like a natural staircase this is the route one, i have not yet attempted it myself, however this is the connection where you walk near to the cross in Benidorm.

as you know we followed the route 2 as seen in the above photo in which I am pointing to the sign so once we contiuned walking

We continue and pass through a first viewpoint where we can see the spectacular bay of Altea and Calpe with the majestic Peñón de Ifach as the entrance gate. Behind the mountains.

We continue and a little further on we find a second viewpoint just before entering a tunnel cut into the rock.

When crossing the tunnel, in the background, we can already see our end of the journey, the Albir lighthouse, with the remains of the old Bombard Tower next to it.

We continue advancing and after a few turns to the right on the mountain, we see the Cueva del Bou or Boca de la Balena, a cavity product of the filtered water on the limestone rock that you can access by a path between bushes to enjoy the views or rest in the shade.

We continue advancing and we find another path, on the left, that leads to the old Ocre Mines.

MORE ON THIS WILL BE COMING SOON

From here to the lighthouse we must highlight a new viewpoint just 200 meters before our end of the journey that allows us to see the part that faces the high seas of the mountains with its impressive cliffs.

And we got to the lighthouse.

where the gate was still locked.

If we leave the fenced land, which you are not meant to please do so with great care because the height is considerable, we can see the part of the lighthouse that faces the sea.

Stay tuned for more !!!!
