Padronmento = El Padron

This is the population register of your official address and one of the more easy pieces of paperwork to apply for but that does not make it any less important.


This is needed for;

- an application for residencia

- for an exchange or renewal of a British to Spanish driving licences

- for an application to healthcare (SIP card)

- to register children at school

- to vote in local, general or european elections (other rules may apply also)

any many other benifits to the local council in the are you are registered.


The padron is issued by your local Town Hall (Ayuntamiento).,

you will need;

1st your passport that is current and in date and a photocopy

2cd either your rental agreement or property deeds

3rd a recent utility bill in your own name

4th your previously recived NIE white A4 certification..


You will receive a certificate to take home with you showing your property details as well as the names of all who reside there.
